They offer very informative and pleasant experiences. I went on a boat tour with Stefano in a topetta. He first taught us about some of the history of Venetian boats rowing, then taught us how to row.
This was a unique experience for a reasonable price. Plus, you get to support a group that is working to maintain the tradition of boating in Venice.
Thoroughly enjoyed my Venetian rowing experience with Nick. He taught me the ancient rowing techniques. It's probably one of, if not the best way to explore the canals. You become the gondolier. Highly recommend it.
If you are looking for a more authentic experience about Venice, I can only recommend to meet with Nicola e Stefano from this association which endeavours to keep the tradition alive. Learn about the gondola history and navigate yourself on the canals. French, English...they do their best to pass their know how. Great experience!!!
We had Emiliano as our guide/instructor and he was amazing! He is a really good teacher, he gives so many tips and helped us how to row. It was our favorite thing during our week in Venice! We had a blast, and would do this again next time when we are again in Venice! Highly highly recommend! It’s more than 5 stars. Please don't go to gondola's where you only site in the city centre or big Castello because that's a really bad tourist attraction. Go to Emiliano, you will have the best experience of your staying in Venice!
This is a really special venture, supporting the community (and some lucky tourists) in learning about a traditional Venetian way of life on the water. Craftsmanship and kindness.
Such a great experience! Stefano taught us so much about the boats and venice while teaching us how to row. We learned so much and would highly recommend! Also they are great are communicating if the weather seems to be impacting the time selected.
We had a really fun time learning about the many styles of Venetian boats and of course trying out some of the special rowing techniques with Luca. These guys are doing really important work preserving and sharing their local culture. I wish them all the best!
